You are a wizard

May 22nd, 2009

Since the mankind people dream about having special powers. Some of them, maybe even mostly of them were about far sighting. I’m not sure who was the first to introduce the crystal globe that wizards, witches, gypsies used for finding out things. Like, say, where another person it.

Imagine this. You have a little crystal in your pocket. You can just touch it and miles, tens of thousand of miles away, someone else hears a noise, of even more, feels a little vibration around him. He then takes his little crystal from his pocket, touches it, maybe rubs it a bit, and then a little little map comes out. The map is no larger then his palm, but yet, it includes the entire earth. Not only road maps. Real world, real people, houses, mountains, lakes and everything. Ok, so he takes this little glass from his pocket, he rubs it, gets his little but complex map and then, he gets a little sign on the map. It is marking the place where you are.

Now, I know that when I was borne, not so long ago, this was considered witchcraft. You could be hanged and killed if you could do that. When did this happened. How come we took it for granted so incredibly fast ? Faster than how we would like the iPhones to work, right ?

And what’s next ? We mostly accomplished everything mankind could dream of. We have immortality left and then what ?

And if immortality comes out tomorrow, how long would it take for us to take it for granted. To forget people used to die and have limited time to have fun and discover things.  And what happens when you take immortality for granted. What would mankind probably dream of ?

    Great Post!

You know how they say, “Any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic”–Arthur C. Clarke.

I guess we could dream of going to other planets! To put the eggs in two baskets - if one of the planets gets knocked out, mankind would still survive on the other(s)
